The FMD Specialist will be responsible for performing following duties:

• Develop Standard Operating Procedures and training module for field veterinary staff in the areas of FMD vaccine and vaccination in different livestock production systems

• Prepare awareness material for field veterinary staff and farmers to undertake proper FMD vaccination

• Ensure proper specifications and timely delivery of those items related with the vaccination and vaccine storage

• Assist in the identification of appropriate vaccine banks and ensure their proper functioning in the country

• In close collaboration of FMD Epidemiologist, design and implement post vaccination sero-monitoring

• Assist in the evaluation of vaccine efficacy during preventive and emergency vaccinations

• Working with other Project staff, assist in the identification of suitable serotypes/sub-types to formulate an effective vaccine for Pakistan

• Maintain all data related with FMD vaccine and vaccination including preventive vaccination, emergency vaccination in the country and results of samples provided by the FMD-World Reference Lab UK

• Promote vaccination on cost sharing basis among the farmers

• Perform training of veterinarians, veterinary assistants and awareness of farmers in FMD vaccine and vaccination.

• Perform any other related duties as required
